Silly Little Things My Kids Say and Do

At Wal-Mart this morning, Ella asked me what I was buying. I told her it was a birthday card for someone. She asked me, "We go to a birthday party today?" I told her no, not today. "But I smell birthday cake in my nose!" I think they were busy at work in the bakery because it really did smell like cake in there.

Later this afternoon, we went shopping for stuff for care packages that are being sent to our troops. Gracie brought some of her own money, and when I told her what I was shopping for, she said she wanted to buy some stuff with her money too. She finally decided on beef jerky and body wash. She had to smell each bottle of body wash (multiple times), but in the end, color won out over scent and she picked the blue one, which, according to her, was just a little bit prettier than the green one.

And then later this afternoon, Ella took a green beaded necklace (given to her by the check-out lady at the store because she wasn't wearing any green), held it lengthwise over my stomach like the ob/gyn does with her measuring tape, and told me my baby was 3 lbs. A few minutes later, when she did it again, the baby had grown to 5 lbs.
