Minnesota Trip 2010 Part 1- The Pool

At the end of July Mark went to a conference at Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, MN. I decided to tag along and, because I'm not crazy (for the most part anyway), we took our oldest niece, Amanda, along with us.

The kids and the baby did well in the car, and even slept pretty well at night. We had three adults and three kids in one hotel room. It could have been a nightmare, but thankfully it wasn't.

Mystic Lake is a huge place and one of the first things we did was hit the pool, and the really cool jacuzzi.

Not sure what Iree is doing in this picture, I think we caught her mid-blink...

Iree Meets Rice Cereal

I gave Irelynn her first rice cereal a few weeks ago. She did really well with it. She's not always in the mood for it, so we aren't doing it on a very regular basis yet, just whenever I think she'd be interested. She's paying more and more attention to people eating. She watches us eat and begs for some of whatever it is we have.

Tour de Avon

On our drive home from getting the girls' hair cuts today we noticed lots of cyclists on the highway. Gracie said, "Look mom, the Tour de France is on this road!!!" I explained to her that, no, those cyclists were not part of the Tour de France, but she insisted they were. She cheered them on the whole way home.

Irelynn @ 4 Months

Irelynn had her 4 month well visit with her pediatrician yesterday.

She weighed in at 11 pounds, 15 ounces, and she's 24 and a half inches long. She's been having some trouble with ear infections, but yesterday they looked good.

She's growing great, and sleeping much better too!

When we were at the doctor's office Gracie asked me if they were going to give Iree a shot.

Me: "I think so."

Gracie: "Well, where will they give her the shot at?"

Me: "In her legs."

Gracie: "In the same place I got my kindergarten shots?"

Me: "Yep."

Gracie: "Awww, but that's where her chubs are at!"

Irelynn Sucking Her Thumb

I've been sleep training Irelynn for the last few nights. By sleep training, I mean I've stopped getting up to put a pacifier back in her mouth every time she cries. Since then, she has finally figured out how to suck her thumb. She's always wanted to, but she could never quite get it. Until now! See!
